Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

As an organization committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, the League continues to assess how its volunteers and resources may be used in the days following the remnants of Harvey and how its community agencies may need support.

The Junior League of Houston, Inc. has developed a dedicated sign-up page to provide volunteer resources to the agencies in its Community Program, including the current 38 community projects, the agencies participating in the Outside Board Representatives program, and others, as needed. Members will be able to sign up for any of these non-credit opportunities to participate in the recovery efforts, if they are able to do so in a safe and reasonable manner. Please continue to heed warnings from city officials and take precautionary measures as appropriate. Click here to go to the sign-up page.

In addition, The Junior League of Houston, Inc. has started a Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to allow its members and supporters an opportunity to participate in the rebuilding efforts. The needs of the requesting community partners are continually being assessed and reviewd. Please consider donating now as the planning conversations are ongoing as organizations consider both their short-term and long-term needs. The monetary gifts will be made as soon as is possible and appropriate. Your donation will directly support the recovery efforts that are so desperately needed. The League’s partnering organizations can  request support by emailing the Community Vice President at community_vp@jlh.org. Click here to go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund page.

Thank you for your partnership as we rebuild Houston together!

With best wishes for your continued safety throughout this weather event,
Sarah Heck Snyder
