Junior League of Houston Foundation

In 1999, the Junior League of Houston created the Community Endowment. In 2005, a separate organization, the Junior League of Houston Foundation, was created and Community Endowment assets were transferred to the new Foundation. The Foundation's board is charged with overseeing the management, investment and distribution of funds. The purpose of the Community Endowment Fund is to sustain and expand the League-designated Community Programs in perpetuity, as well as help fund new initiatives.

Income generated by the Community Endowment Fund is intended to provide a safety net for League programs should other sources of revenue fall short. The availability of such income also allows the League to act quickly to address unmet community needs and to participate in important collaborations.

In 2012 – 2013, the first gift from the Community Endowment Fund was made to the League's Community Program in the amount of $75,000.
