The upcoming school year will be more enjoyable for 100 Houston-area at-risk children thanks to the seventh annual Childspree shopping event sponsored by The Junior League of Houston, Inc. and Cameron. The event benefited Child Advocates and was held at the Houston Heights Target located at 2580 Shearn St., Houston, TX 77007 on Saturday, August, 16, 2014, from 6 – 9 a.m.

Junior League members were paired with children to assist with the selection of new back-to-school clothes, purchased with Target gift cards donated by the League. The children also received backpacks filled with school supplies. Shopping was followed by an in-store breakfast party, which the volunteers attended with the children and their guardians. The children have been removed from unstable homes and now can feel assured that they will have what they need to get their school year off to a great start.
