Budget & Volunteer Requests

Agencies where the Junior League has an existing community project should follow the timeline and instructions below to submit requests for continued budget and volunteer support for 2020 – 2021. An agency that wants to apply for the creation of a new, ongoing volunteer opportunity with the Junior League should review the information about the Junior League’s Community Initiatives.


2021 – 2022 Volunteer and Budget Request Timeline

Tuesday, September 15, 2020 Volunteer and budget (if applicable) request for 2021 – 2022 due to the Community Vice President using the Volunteer and Budget Request Form. Budget requests include Program Support and Grant Support.
Friday, November 13, 2020 Amendments to volunteer and budget requests for 2021 – 2022 will be accepted through this date.
September – December 2020 League Community Impact Committees review and evaluate community projects as well as volunteer and budget requests for 2021 – 2022 community projects. The League’s Community Council votes on recommended changes to projects.
December 2020 Community Vice President and Community Impact Committees make community project change recommendations to the League’s Board of Directors.
January 2021 Community Council and Finance Council vote on proposed Program Support and Grant Support for 2021 – 2022 fiscal year.
March 2021 The League’s Board of Directors reviews and votes on proposed 2021 – 2022 budget.
May 2021 League general membership votes on proposed 2021 – 2022 budget.
Tuesday, June 1, 2021 Contracts and approved budgets are sent to agencies.


2020 – 2021 Volunteer and Budget Funding Timeline

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 2020 – 2021 Junior League of Houston volunteers begin volunteer service.
Friday, July 31, 2020 Signed 2020 – 2021 League contract  and Certificate of Liability Insurance due to the League via mail or email to admin_director@jlh.org.
Variable Grant support (if applicable) paid to agency.
Variable If there are changes to intended use of grant funds, the agency should submit the 2020 – 2021 Grant Support Change Request Form. Changes to use of grant support funds must be approved by the Junior League of Houston.
Friday, May 14, 2021 Deadline for submitting the Stewardship Form regarding grant support monies spent, if applicable.
Friday, May 14, 2021 Deadline for submitting requests for reimbursement of project support expenses.
