Community Program
The Junior League of Houston, Inc. has a long history of serving the Houston community. In 1925, The Junior League of Houston established its first community project as a clinic for disadvantaged children. The clinic created the foundation for the League’s relationships with major medical resources in Houston, including Baylor College of Medicine, Ben Taub Hospital, Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The League’s community program has grown to encompass 31 community projects, in which over 1,000 volunteers dedicate their service to the Houston community. Additionally, the League serves agencies where its members do not actively volunteer service through our community assistance grants, outside board representative/collaborations program, emergency and resource contingency grants and IMPACT volunteers.
