Building Resilience: Helping Children Navigate Through a Crisis

Junior League of Houston will host a panel Tuesday, February 2nd, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., that will explore the topic of children’s mental health and how children can learn to build resilience to navigate through a crisis. The panel will explore how the pandemic and other recent crises like Hurricane Harvey have impacted children and what can be done to mitigate the impact and help children not just survive but thrive. Former KPRC Channel 2 “Buzz Lady” Roseann Rogers will moderate. Confirmed panelists include:

  • Lisa Descant, LPC-S, LMFT-S, Communities in Schools CEO
  • Alison Gorrell, Mental Performance Coach at AG Performance Sport Psychology
  • Elizabeth McIngvale, Ph.D., LCSW, Director-McLean OCD Institute
  • Elisabeth Netherton, Staff Psychiatrist at Menninger Clinic
