The Houston branch of the Junior League, an organization of women who serve and uplift the community through volunteerism, celebrated its 75th anniversary with a three-night event in early February.
Held from Feb. 2-4, the event involved a black-tie charity ball that raised over $820,000 for the Junior League of Houston. According to a press release, the charity ball has been an annual source of revenue for the organization since 1949.
The League, which has 4,200 members, promotes a life of civic service for women, and provides trained volunteers and funding to 33 community projects around Houston as well as additional outreach efforts, such as community grants and events.
