Outside Board Representative/Collaborations Program Representative

Members of The Junior League of Houston, Inc. have served as non-voting representatives on the board of directors of other nonprofit organizations or members of committees almost since the League's inception. Nonprofit organizations seek League members for their boards or committees for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, League members are well trained in nonprofit operations. They know how committees and boards operate and arrive armed with knowledge and experience from their volunteer work with the League. Typically, a League member serves as an Outside Board Representative/Collaborations Program Representative for a particular agency for a period of one to three years, coinciding with the League’s year, June 1 – May 31.

The deadline for submissions for an Outside Board Representative/Collaborations Program Representative has passed. The deadline for applications for the 2017 – 2018 program was September 1, 2016.  Should your organization be interested in applying next year, applications and submission guidelines are typically posted in early spring.  You may review the online application and guidelines below. If you have any questions, please contact Megan Witcher Ryan, 2016 – 2017 Community External Relations Chairman, at externalrelations@jlh.org.
