The Tea Room is a private restaurant operated by the Junior League of Houston open to League members and Tea Room patron members. It consists of the main dining room and three Garden Rooms. 

The Junior League of Houston, Inc. operates the Tea Room with the goal of delivering exceptional food and beverage service. Beyond this, the Tea Room plays a vital role in supporting the League’s mission by serving as a training facility for members, where they learn the principles of service. This education equips them to participate more effectively in various community service initiatives the League undertakes. Additionally, the Tea Room is a welcoming space for League members—comprising Provisionals, Actives, and Sustainers—along with Tea Room patron members and their guests, who enjoy luncheons, events, and receptions.

Luncheon Service

The Tea Room is open for luncheon service Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Saturdays, the Tea Room is open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Tea Room will be closed on the following dates in 2026 – 2027:

• Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays
• Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for Annual Building Maintenance
• Thursday, July 2, 2026 – Saturday, July 4, 2026 for Independence Day
• Monday, September 7, 2026 for Labor Day
• Wednesday, November 25, 2026 – Saturday, November 28, 2026 for Thanksgiving
• Wednesday, December 23, 2026 – Saturday, January 2, 2027 for the winter holidays
• Thursday, February 4, 2027 – Saturday, February 6, 2027 for Charity Ball
• Monday, January 18, 2027 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Friday, March 26, 2027 – Saturday, March 27, 2027 for Easter
• Monday, May 31, 2027 for Memorial Day

Reservations

If you would like to make a reservation, contact the Tea Room Front Office staff at 713.871.6673. Our front office staff is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You may also send an email to tearoom_reservations@jlh.org. Individual dining reservations requested by voicemail or email will be confirmed within the next business day. Reservations are booked in the order in which they are received, up to 60 days in advance. 

The main part of the Tea Room has open seating on Wednesdays through Fridays from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. On Saturday, the Tea Room opens at 11 a.m., and reservations will be accepted for seating until 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome depending on availability. We recommend calling in advance. 

On the day of your reservation, tables are held 15 minutes from the time of reservation. Parties of 12 or more are required to pre-order their meal from a few host-chosen options from the Tea Room menu. Pre-ordered meals must have a guaranteed minimum of 15 entrees or 21 entrees depending on the booking details. Cancellation Policy

Reservations for groups of 8 or more must be canceled at least 48 hours in advance.

Method of Payment

The Tea Room is cashless and we no longer accept cash payments for events and transactions, including private events. Payment may be made by Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Checks may be split up to four ways. As a reminder, gratuity is not accepted when dining in the Tea Room.

The newly remodeled Junior League of Houston Tea Room is available to host your next event. From an intimate celebration in one of our Gardens Rooms overlooking the lovely terrace and gardens to hosting your next corporate event, the Tea Room is available to meet your needs throughout the year.
